Dr. Neema Stephens
Meet Dr. Neema Stephens
Dr. Neema Stephens, the visionary founder of Purpose Path Consulting Solutions, serves as Cigna Healthcare’s National Medical Director for Health Equity. With over 20 years of expertise as a board-certified Nephrologist and Internal Medicine physician, Dr. Stephens is committed to bridging health disparities and promoting comprehensive, equitable care.
Dr. Stephens has extensive experience in clinical practice, managed care, the pharmaceutical industry, and health services, notably as Senior Medical Director for Evernorth Health Services (Cigna Group) and Medical Director for Cigna Healthcare. Her areas of specialty include chronic kidney disease management, transplantation, and immunosuppressive therapy. Dr. Stephens is a respected clinical leader recognized for her strategic planning capabilities, cross-functional team leadership, and clinical trial oversight.
Dr. Stephens holds a BA in Spanish from Rice University and earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She completed her residency and fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine.
Passionate about community involvement, Dr. Stephens actively engages in philanthropy and volunteerism through Jack and Jill of America, Inc.
